This past weekend was SparkCon in Raleigh, which is always a favorite event of mine. Its four day festival which celebrates creative fields of all kinds through its various sparks. They have everything from art installations, to a fashion show, to circus performers. I participated in the BazaarSpark which is basically a craft show featuring various local designers. The weather didn't cooperate the for the first half of the festival, so we spent Saturday sitting outside in a cold, soggy mess but the sun decided to make an appearance on Sunday and it was perfect, not hot, not cold, no drizzly drops of water. All in all, it was a great show and the perfect start to fall show season. I have a brief break for my sister's wedding this weekend then its back to back shows for the next three weeks. Be sure to find me on 10.2 in Chapel Hill for FestiFall. I've been so busy making pieces for bazaarSpark this weekend that I somehow missed when my studio exploded! Somewhere in all this mess is my half round ring file. Yikes!!! I swear it started out clean and organized on Monday. no thanks to hurricane Irene, Lazy Daze had to be canceled last weekend, which means that i am all caught up in the studio and had some time to play around and make some one of a kind pieces. all hand fabricated from sterling silver and copper and accented with plastic model train figures. stop by the studio for first friday tomorrow and check them out. 6-10 pm, 14 Glenwood Ave, Studio 24, downtown Raleigh. |
