Hollow Form Beads and Pendants- Nov 15 from 10-3
Hollow form beads are a great exercise to take your soldering and fabrication skills to the next level and a lot of fun to make. In this workshop we will discuss several different ways to make and decorated hollow form shapes and beads as well as different ways to incorporate them into your designs. The main focus of this workshop is on fabricating and soldering hollow rounded beads but we will also touch on techniques for hollow rings, cylinders, flat backed pendants. Students will experiment with a variety of techniques, stamping, sweat soldering, sawing, hammering, etc to add decorations to their beads. Exact amount of beads each student will make depends on complexity of design and speed at which they work.
Class is limited to 3 students. Prior experience is helpful but not necessary. Copper and brass sheet and use of tools are included in the cost of the class. Students are welcome to bring their own sheet if they prefer to work in another metal.
This is a 4 hour class
Open to ages 16+. Classes are taught in the Metamorphosis Metals studio in downtown Raleigh, NC
