Sawing, Soldering, & Chain Making- May 7 from 10- 6 pm
This full day workshop will provide a good overview of the main techniques you need to start making metal jewelry. We will work with copper wire and sheet to design and make sweat soldered double layered charms which we will add to a handmade chains. Students will learn several soldering techniques, how to properly use the jewelry saw, as well as how to make a basic soldered link chain and clasp. If time allows we learn to make additional styles of chain and clasps.
***In order to get the most from this workshop it is recommended that students have some prior experience making metal jewelry.
Workshop is limited to 3 students. Open to ages 16+. Classes are taught in the Metamorphosis Metals studio in downtown Raleigh, NC
Class runs from 10-6 with a 30 min lunch break.
